August 5, 2019 Reply L.A Bailey XxXx August 5, 2019 Reply Peter Mabbort Hey guys… while I can see that obliques and core strengthening can support the lumbar region, maybe even slightly increase internal thoracic pressure to some small degree, I am surprised that you haven’t addressed the main cause of lower back pain which is weakened hip flexor and glute minor and major muscles. For lower back pain, working these muscles with simple lateral leg raises or laying on me bed with knees bent, feet flat and raising the the abs, contracting the glutes (glute contraction) is far more likely to address the issue by strengthening the real weakness rather than your suggestion of supplementing the weak areas with core strengthening. In my experience with occ. therapy your not addressing the underlying issue. What’s your thoughts on that? Cheers, Peter August 5, 2019 Reply Patty Cake I was told not to lay on the back as so the curve of the lower back touches the floor. I could tell you the logistics of it all but ya. August 5, 2019 Reply Lenore Velez I have an annular tear in one of my lumbar discs, which is flared up right now, and doing this exercise would definitely be very painful, because I cannot even turn side to side. Lumbar disc issues, 4o degree scoliosis, spinal stenosis and so on. In December my fiancé died a traumatic death and honestly I’m just now able to get out of bed and stay out of it for most of the day. (I’m “disabled” and have been dealing with my back and some mental challenges for decades) My life has been hard since birth and I’m a A+ fighter, but for the first time I turned to food for comfort during these past 7 months. A lot of it and all of it the bad kind. Needless to say, I’ve got some work to do on my core. The worst thing I could have done to myself I did. It’s incredible what fake food chemicals to to the entire body. Anyway, I’m shaking this off and searching YouTube for help and found y’all. WHAT A BLESSING – I just want to say thank you. August 6, 2019 Reply Marian L You two are too funny…so naturally too, without trying to be. thank you for another great and helpful video and for making us laugh more…i love that. August 6, 2019 Reply Adam J. Story, DC Could you address the information Stuart McGill presents regarding back pain versus the information in the video? It seems there's conflicting opinions regarding rotational crunches, crunches in general and strengthening hip flexors versus stability exercises (McGill). The research is pretty clear and experience as a chiropractor tells me that forced flexion and rotation isn't good for discs. Just curious what your thoughts are. Thank you. August 6, 2019 Reply David A. You guys give great advice; your grammar needs some attention. A person lies down, NOT lays down. Go back and study up on your English usage. August 7, 2019 Reply Mytwocentplus OMG!
